Vinegar Hill (Sledding Hill)

Vinegar Hill is OPEN for sledding fun!
For more than 100 years the City of Ouray has closed a one-block section of 5th Street (between 5th and 6th Avenues) to provide a place for the youth, and young at heart, to go sledding. This north-facing hill is typically closed to vehicle traffic (but opened for sleds, tubes, and toboggans) from Mid-December to early March, depending upon winter conditions. Bring your own sleds, warm clothes, and enjoy an afternoon on this historic local sledding hill. Status is weather dependent. Please call our Visitor Center for up-to-date info: 970-325-3954.
