Ouray Economic Development Committee

Shape

Ouray Economic Development Committee

The Ouray Economic Development Committee (OEDC) works as the liaison between the City and the local business community. This includes creating and implementing an Economic Development Plan and economic development incentives to best serve the business community and to align with programs that induce private investment enterprises and commerce. The committee also explores regional economic development efforts with the Town of Ridgway and Ouray County as well as is tasked with developing a Business Expansion and Retention (BEAR) program, participating in policy discussions and revisions to community planning documents, and making recommendations to the City Council about economic incentive requests.

All committees have a set number of members with staggered terms and may also have residency requirements.  Details for each committee can be found in Chapter 2 of the Ouray City Code.
